Here is a basic recipe for making pancakes:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add milk, melted butter or oil, and vanilla extract (if using) and whisk together.
  3. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined (small lumps are okay).
  4. Let the batter sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  6. Once the skillet is hot, ladle about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet.
  7. Cook the pancake for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges start to look dry.
  8. Serve pancakes with syrup, butter, or any desired toppings.

Note: you can use any type of milk, and add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for added flavor. Also, you can use different flours like whole wheat, oat, almond flour, etc. Enjoy your pancakes!
